Fencing for Fun, Together We are Strong!
Bullying and cyber bullying have become the most common form of harassment in schools and youth social network communities. The devastating effects of bullying on kids and teens elicit loss of self-esteem and cause increased anxiety and depression in the most vulnerable young victims. The loss of dignity that comes from being bullied often leads to tragic results, many of them were aired on national TVs. We feel no one deserves to be bullied, it is important for us to speak up and take action to help prevent bullying. In October 2014, our local Bullying Awareness Prevention Month, we, Tiffany Lu (8th grader) and Ellen Lu (6th grader), founded the American Fencing Association for Children and Teens ( AFACT ).
